A wide open finale, with KHUN JOHN heading the shortlist, in preference to Sainglend and Watson's Bay. All the previous winners of this contest have been rated in excess of 70, and only three here come into the contest of that sort of mark, Sainglend, Spirit of Adjisa and our selection Khun John, who's making his debut for Willie Musson. An unsuccessful try at hurdling has seen him brought back to the flat, and this is his first go on the turf for a couple of years. All his previous wins have come over slightly shorter and on the all-weather, but in this sort of company he should be competitive and a change of yard may bring about a change of fortune. Sainglend's been placed in four of five hurdles attempts over the winter, but this is a first run on the flat since October when winning here. The promising efforts over the sticks may have seen him reinvigorated and more enthusiastic. Watson's Bay was claimed by Paul Howling after finishing fourth last time out, and again a change of scenery may prove beneficial. He's well in at the weights, but he does go better on the Polytrack. It's a tracppy finale, with marginal preference being for Khun John.
