Verdict

David Dennis, an up-and-comer in the training ranks, has done a splendid job with Retro Valley, who has scored in three of the last six starts. He does step up in grade now though and is some 21lb higher than when landing the first of those three victories. L'ingenue houses scope for improvement after just three starts but KEEP IN LINE is the preference. The Godolphin colt was set such a stiff task at Royal Ascot last time just on the back of a Ripon maiden win but wasn't given a hard time when his chance had gone. Surely there's more to come from him after four starts and he'll be much happier here dropped notably in grade.
