In depth

Verdict

A competitive handicap in which Iceman George is selected ahead of Down The Brick and Granary. Iceman George is the only previous winner in this field on a surface of this nature and while it is no guarantee that he can reproduce it here, his recent run at Wolverhampton was not completely hopeless on balance. Down The Brick has been in great form throughout the season. He has placed form with give underfoot but the handicapper has had plenty of chance to check his sums. Granary makes a handicap debut. Henry Candy's filly is bred to be in need of something of a trip and off this featherweight, she has to enter calculations. Perfect Reward has ran some fair races in defeat and shouldn't be too far away if putting his best foot forward. The Flying Cowboy still appears capable of progression and is another to watch closely in the market. I Predict A Riot and Dan Tucker have positive jockey bookings. A difficult race for punters and Iceman George gets the most tentative of votes.
