    Verdict

ALMAGEST has been given a short break after his fourth at Sandown in June. He gets the tentative vote here as he should still be further forward than the returning duo Durante Alighieri and The Mongoose. Both showed enough last year to suggest they'd be winning this season, but it might not be today. Cairncross improved at Pontefract last week and she's not out of this, while the newcomer Race To Dubai makes more appeal than stablemate Jameel, and fellow debutant Riviera Stars is worth a second glance as he's related to five winners.
