    Verdict

Lateen Sails gets the vote ahead of Shot To fame, with Hazyview, Santa Fe and Cape Greko all likely to play a part in proceedings in this Listed race. Lateen Sails has been campaigned at a high level since joining Godolphin from Henry Cecil three years ago, and as he will be having only his 10th career start, there is plenty of mileage left in the tank. It was just lack of peak fitness that found him out on his seasonal reappearance at Nottingham recently when beaten in a photo by Take a Bow in a conditions event, and if the ground turns soft, that will add to his chance here. He meets a fit rival in Shot To Fame who has nothing to find on the ratings, but who will need to improve on his latest Goodwood effort to beat the selection. Hazyview has made the transition to top company nicely, winning the Group 3 Diomed Stakes at Epsom before being predictably outclassed in the Prince of Wales's Stakes last week. He will find this easier but will do well to give weight away all round today. Santa Fe will appreciate the trip, and Cape Greko has plenty of potential but is pitched in at the deep end on his belated return, so for the winner we return to Lateen Sails
