Verdict

Power Series has been well beaten in both starts as a juvenile and, while he may do better this term, John Gosden's colt looks best left out of calculations in a race that is taken to go to JUICY PEAR, who can get the better of this main rival Dr Valentine. Ann Duffield's gelding was with Sylvester Kirk for his three previous start on the flat in the UK and with Eoghan O'Neill for one run in France and he showed some ability, as he did for new connections over hurdles at Sedgefield recently; he has to be of interest back on the level today. Mick Channon's Nadinska was disappointing when odds on for his debut in a maiden here last month and of more interest may be Mark Johnston's Manxman, who was well held on his Kempton debut but the son of Celtic Swing is surely better than he showed that day and it would not be the first time that one of Johnston's runners has improved greatly from their first start to the second. The safest option though looks to be Michael Bell's Juicy Pear, who has shown improvement with each start on the Polytrack and he can go one better than at Kempton last time.
