This looks a tight little handicap with the exception of the modest Song Of The Siren. Mr Burbidge won over track and trip last month and followed up at Kempton but the handicapper has had his say since. Scribe has been out of sorts since returning from a break but Embsay Crag won at Newcastle in October and was third over hurdles at Sedgefield last month. Alan King doesn't run many on the Polytrack so it may be significant that he saddles SECRET EDGE here. The five-year-old is a decent hurdler and is no slouch on the Flat either, as he proved at Newbury two runs ago. He looks better treated than Arashi and gets the nod.
Embsay Crag 10-1 (9-11) Held up towards rear, headway on outside 7f out, switched right over 2f out, soon chased leaders, went 2nd well over 1f out, led entering final furlong, stayed on well, won at Newcastle 2m hcp 0-75 (5) sft in Oct beating Rosairlie (9-10) by 1 1/4l, 11 ran.

Mr Burbidge 7-2 (10-0) Held up towards rear, headway over 4f out, edged right and led over 1f out, stayed on well, won at Kempton 2m hcp 0-60 (6) pol in Nov beating Echua (9-6) by 1 1/4l, 13 ran.
Arashi 25-1 (8-13) Slowly away, in rear, ridden over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong, no impression, 8th of 10, 5l behind Thankyou Very Much (8-9) at Kempton 1m 2f hcp 0-70 (5) pol in Nov.
