Verdict

The Fibresand surface at Southwell may have been the cause of SIR FRANK MORGAN's below-par effort last time. He'd landed a double over course and distance in good style earlier and gets another chance back at this track. Fade To Grey remains out of sorts and was well beaten by the selection last month while Royal Defence was ending a long losing run when scoring over 1m6f here a week ago. He's facing a tougher task today under a penalty and the remainder are even harder to fancy unless William Hogarth improves for last year's slide down the handicap.
