Verdict

What-A-Dancer was claimed out of Alan Swinbank's stable for ¿20,000 after landing a Lingfield claimer over this trip last time but faces no easy task under a penalty in a better race today and preference is for The Lord, who gets the vote over Rydal. The last mentioned represents the in-form yard of Gerard Butler ran on well close home on his return at Lingfield last month and should strip fitter for the outing. He makes more appeal than stablemate Prince Tum Tum on jockey bookings. Top weight Quito, who is always liable to pop up when in the mood but is hard to catch right, has plenty of weight to carry and is probably best passed over, while Trinculo may need another run or two to put him spot on. The vote then goes to The Lord. Bill Turner's five-year-old caught the eye staying on behind Dancing Mystery at Southwell last week, when 7lbs wrong in the weights and off his proper mark today has an obvious chance. Today's longer trip should not pose any problems and The Lord is taken to make the most of what looks a favourable mark.
