Verdict

Tobrata has run well in two recent starts when finding just one too good on the Fibresand at Southwell and Mel Brittain's gelding has to be respected on his Polytrack debut but he is yet to confirm his liking for the surface and a better bet looks to be ALTIMATUM, who gets the verdict ahead of Cross Section. Ed Vaughan's filly made a pleasing debut on the Polytrack at Lingfield in October last year but she did not progress as may have been expected this term and, despite having run better at Kempton last time, she may have to settle for minor honours. Levitation has shown some ability for Stuart Kittow but was well held at Kempton last time and she looks best watched at present, while Hold The Star looks to be going the wrong way having shown some ability early on in her career. The vote then goes the way of Paul Cole's Altimatum, who lost first place in a stewards enquiry after finishing first past the post in a Brighton maiden in July, was well beaten by Mark Johnston's Mannlichen at Kempton last month but looks top have been found a good opportunity to open his account today.
