Schottische was successful in this race last year off a lower mark. Athassel has been holding his form well but over shorter trips so GABRIAL THE THUG is preferred. The latter won over track and trip last time having slipped down the weights and is partnered by the leading amateur, Simon Walker, today. Emma Sayer has won on Blue Jacket twice before though the latter has not raced since June while Becky Brisbourne has won this race a couple of times before but Steady Major arrives out of form.
