In depth

Verdict

A typically competitive handicap to conclude proceedings here and we will take INTERNATIONALDEBUT to win it with Spate River, St Trinians and What's Up Doc all cited as dangers. The selection is sent to the races by in-form trainer Stuart Parr, and attempts to complete a hat-trick tonight after wins at Leicester and most recently over course and distance. He has drawn the inside rail here and has enough in his favour to defy a 5lb rise in the weights. What's Up Doc has won twice on the Polytrack this year, over a mile at Dundalk and then last time out over 10f at Lingfield. The latter was in a claimer but he is back on the same mark as for that Irish success so he is very much respected. The same also applies to St Trinians. Ed Vaughan's filly has to give weight away all around here courtesy of back-to-back wins over course and distance. The most recent of those was in very comfortable fashion, but a 10lb rise in the weights and a wide enough draw won't help her hat-trick bid. Spate River steps up in trip and acts well here, but he too has a wide draw plus an 8lb rise to contend with and he will have to be at his best. Alexander Huricane looks in the grip of the assessor, while Claret And Amber has to run from 4lb out of the handicap.
