Verdict

A modest heat and not nearly as competitive as the numbers suggest. It would be no surprise to see an improved showing from Opus Maximus while Polar Auroras was third over a similar trip at Newbury eight days ago. Avison and recent course winner Mac Tiernan have to go on the short-list but there should be more to come from the unexposed IMPERIAL WAVE, who could find this trip ideal after weakening inside the final furlong over 1m4f at Lingfield last time. Harrys Yer Man may be best of the rest.
