In depth

Verdict

A moderate contest that can go to Lilac Star, who is selected ahead of Ours and Halfwaytoparadise. Money for The Tyke would also be interesting to note - even though the Clive Cox-trained newcomer appears to need further on pedigree. Halfwaytoparadise is starting to get some leniency from the handicapper after failing to live up her early promise. Bill Turner does well with this type of animal and she is one to bear in mind for a low-grade event of this type. Ours responded well to the blinkers last time out and could be worth another throw of the dice. He does have a ability locked away somewhere and could easily pay his way at this level; should he put his mind to the task in hand. However, Lilac Star is marginally preferred on this occasion. The daughter of Observatory (a half-sister to Colisay) is far less exposed than the majority of her rivals and she need only to her mark to see off this moderate bunch.
