In depth

Verdict

It is hard to see past DUELLIST in this maiden; Miereveld and Spirited Lady look most likely to chase him home. Mark Johnston has fired in plenty of winners so far this year and Duellist can keep the momentum going. He chased home Burghley here last week and looked as though he would come on plenty for the experience. He won't need to improve much to win this and he is a confident choice. Miereveld missed the break on his debut and he ran very green to finish a long way behind our selection, but he will learn for that introduction to the racecourse and he can get closer today. Spirited Lady is an interesting newcomer from the Richard Fahey yard and she is certainly one to note in the market. Belles Beau, Adam De Beaulieu, Cross The Boss and Wings of Kintyre will all have to improve plenty to make the frame, and we will stick with Duellist as the pick.
