In depth

Verdict

Deauville Dancer hasn't done as well as expected over hurdles but Jigsaw Financial has been going well around here lately, winning two runs ago and only finding one too good over course and distance last time. Ablazing is consistent and deserves a crack at this higher level while Eardisland got back to winning ways over track and trip a little under two weeks ago, though it's a worry that she's come up short in two previous tries in this grade. Nautical Nitwit returned from a short break to win at Sedgefield but this is more competitive and Crookstown hasn't raced since winning here in May off a 5lb lower mark. PERSPICACE (NAP) won here in the spring and possibly found the trip a shade too far on his latest run behind stablemate Skylander, though wasn't beaten far. The latter almost followed up at Sedgefield so the form looks solid and David Pipe's five-year-old can return to winning ways.
