Verdict

Quelclasse showed improved form when chasing home Tyrrells Wood in a novices' hurdle at Plumpton last time and Robert Stronge's gelding has every chance on that evidence but a better bet may be PLENTY OF CHAT, who gets the verdict ahead of Heathfield Flyer. Victor Dartnell's gelding, a point-to-point winner, has run a couple of reasonable races under rules and he has to be respected in a race that should not take a great deal of winning. My Minds Maid was well held on his debut for Paul Nicholls in a Newton Abbot bumper last month but may do better now put over hurdles for the first time, while Oliver Sherwood's Silver Bay has not progressed as much as may have been anticipated. The vote then goes to Plenty Of Chat, who won a point-to-point in Ireland before running creditably in bumpers and he may be worth chancing on his first start over hurdles for Tim Vaughan.
