Verdict

A P McCoy rode a treble at Southwell on Sunday and returns to action on board American Legend. He was sent off favourite at Uttoxeter but weakened up the straight and is in danger of becoming disappointing. Teak is an interesting runner as he caused a big shock when landing a stayers' race on the Flat at Goodwood last month. Long Wave was beaten at Southwell after winning at Fontwell but should confirm running with Wither Yenot, who still has something to learn about jumping fences. MONETARY FUND had no trouble scoring over track and trip three weeks ago and has bags of scope. A decent staying hurdler, he can follow up despite conceding weight all round.
