McCoy has won on Chestnut Ben but it was two years ago and the top weight invariably finds little when push comes to shove. That was the case over course and distance in June when he finished a nine-length third to Echo Dancer with Escardo further behind. The latter was subsequently well behind LOUIS LUDWIG on faster ground here last month, however, and may not be able to turn the tables despite a small turnaround in the weights. Alderbrook Lad will need further than this while Brannoc finished behind Escardo at Newton Abbot, though did finish a place in front of Stafford Charlie who was second here three weeks ago.
