Verdict

Alnwick was a useful runner on the level and might be worth chancing having been well backed on his hurdles bow last time. Preference this time, though, is for SPOCK who shouldn't be too harshly judged on his run behind the potentially smart Dunraven Storm when last seen and it would be surprising if Paul Nicholls has kept him around if he hadn't shown some ability over timber. Twentypoundluck has won twice in the pointing sphere and improved in two starts under rules so may yet have his say in this. A tricky little race but Spock can prosper.
