In depth

Verdict

Quinte du Chatelet looked impressive enough on his debut and is taken to follow up here with both Matuhi and Prince Taime worth noting. The selection was in winning form at Taunton on his debut and although it was only a four runner field he looked mature in his attitude and looks likely to improve further with race experience. Matuhi has run well on all four outings even though on his last couple of efforts he has failed to trouble the judge. He got off the mark at Ludlow in January and then ran well in a competitive event behind Hold Em at Huntingdon and then was outclassed at Newbury last time out. Now dropped in grade he holds every chance. Prince Taime won over course and distance last May and the won what looked like a competitive eighteen runner novice at Warwick back in November. His form looks rock solid and the yard are in good form so he has to be very much respected. But for the winner we will return to Quinte du Chatelet.
