In depth

Verdict

Recent winners Malapropism and Justalord must be considered here, but we will take a chance on Endless Summer. Tony Carroll's seven-year-old hasn't visited the winners enclosure since August 2000, but has put up some solid efforts in defeat. In fact he hasn't run a bad race all season and put up a superb display last to finish runner up to Kings College Boy at Chester. A repeat of that, or his previous effort at Newmarket, should be good enough here. Malapropism makes a quick reappearance following a game victory from Beyond The Clouds last week at Doncaster and looks set to take a hand in the finish again. Justalord was a comfortable winner at Chepstow last month and still looks on a decent mark. Mine Behind is also capable of being in the shake up, but Endless Summer is overdue a victory and gets our vote.
