      Verdict

It is hard to escape the claims of Iamback, who is selected in preference to Now And Again and Pappy, who both ran fair races last time and will be dangerous to rule out with similar performances today. The latter does have a few questions to answer regarding his resolutuion though and is not one to be rushing to support without at least a positive indication from the betting market. Now And Again has gone close on the All Weather on several occasion and has each-way claims again today. However, he does have to prove himself to be equally effective on this surface and cannot be confidently expected to just do so. The veteran Marengo has been a good fun horse over the years and should again run his race. However, he not won on turf since August 2001 and is for the very brave only. Therefore, with all things considered, it seems harsh to desert Iamback after what has been a frustrating period for him. Gay Kelleway's charge has not enjoyed the rub of the green on several occasions during the last couple of months. Still he has run up to a level that gives him solid claims in this company and he is expected to be hard to beat tonight.
