In depth

Verdict

WE’LL SHAKE HANDS has obvious claims escaping a penalty after winning an apprentices’ race at Nottingham under today’s rider. Karl Burke’s charge can take advantage with the opposition inspiring little confidence. Kilim faded out of contention pretty quickly once asked for an effort over 1m2f at Pontefract and can only improve while Captain Gerald’s earlier win over 1m1f came in soft ground. 7f winner Monna Valley is another with plenty to prove stepping up to middle-distances for the first time and the remainder, while still unexposed, have shown little form worthy of a mention so far.
