MATTAMIA showed plenty of speed to score at Nottingham last month and is fancied to uphold the form with Irrepressible. There may also be more to come from the hat-trick seeking Titus Andronicus, who despite being 8lb higher than he was when winning at Catterick last October, has already shown he retains the ability to be effective at a slightly higher level. This is a stiffer test for him but he is in great heart just now and should make another bold bid for glory. Irrepressible - a half-sister to Reverence - has started to get the hang of things and is at the right end of the weights to still play a strong part. She is an honest type and can again give the selection a run for the money. However, being gelded seems to have been the making of Mattamia as a racehorse and, as this course traditionally favours front runners; the others will need to be at their very peak if he hits the gates in the manner he did at Nottingham when he was last seen out.
