Verdict

STEP IN TIME is taken to rise above this latest challenge and is selected in preference to She's OK and Jack My Boy. The last named is held in high regard by his yard and takes a significant drop in grade after finishing sixth in a Listed race at Ascot last month. This is more his grade and a better effort can be anticipated this afternoon. She's OK won a fillies' only nursery at Newmarket 17 days ago - gaining a just deserved victory after a series near misses. A 5lb higher mark obviously makes life harder for her. But the Clive Brittain-trained youngster is an improving sort and cannot confidently be ruled out. Excellent Guest and Pintura are a couple of others worth noting in the betting - the former has shown plenty of promise and would be especially interesting if backed before the 'off'. However, Step In Time has improved with each start to date and, as Mark Johnston's juveniles seem to harden quickly with experience, this son of Giant's Causeway is taken as a good value option in a tough one to call.
