All the talk leading up to this year's renewal of the Epsom Oaks was the strength of the Irish team, but LOOK HERE had different ideas and put in a very impressive performance to put behind her a disappointing effort in the Lingfield trial. The winner was held up off a fast pace but as those on the front end faded, Seb Sanders found himself in the perfect position, out wide and away from trouble. His filly smoothly made ground and when asked to quicken she did so in taking style. Moonstone filled the runner-up position. Richard Hughes positioned her just behind the eventual winner but she had to run three horses wider into the straight. The runner-up didn't have the legs to pick up the winner. Katiyra is another who could not match the winner's pace late on but stayed on stoutly. Clowance was the real eye-catcher. She lost her action coming down off Tattenham Corner but once straightened up she finished with a real flourish. The favourite Lush Lashes appeared as if she failed to stay the 12f trip, hanging quite badly inside the final two furlongs. Chinese White was another disappointment and stamina could well emerge to have been her undoing also.
