A fantastic race and a fourth Group One success for HENRYTHENAVIGATOR but only after a thrilling tussle with old adversary Raven's Pass over the last two furlongs. The Coolmore colt looked a bit sweaty in the paddock beforehand and found his pacemaker Windsor Palace taken on early doors by the keen Major Cadeaux. But once Johnny Murtagh pulled him round the leading pair, he surged to the front and headed towards the rails. That allowed Raven's Pass, who had kept closer tabs on him than in his previous defeats at Newmarket and Royal Ascot, to throw down a serious challenge thanks to an aggressive ride from Jimmy Fortune. But Henrythenavigator still had a head to spare at the line and is now up there with the great milers. The runner-up only needs to avoid Aidan O'Brien's superstar to record a well-deserved victory at the very highest level while watch out for Winker Watson, maybe over six or seven furlongs, as he travelled superbly until weakening in the final furlong.
