The progressive SMOKEY STORM made the most of a handy draw in stall three and gained a good tracking position under a shrewd Alan Munro ride. Munro deserves plenty of credit for this latest big-race success as he showed good judgement in letting others blaze the trail. Smokey Storm then came through under the far side rail - exploiting the fresh strip of ground to run on strongly to the line. Recent winners of this race have struggled to hold their own afterwards but this fellow could buck that trend. Trainer William Jarvis feels there could be a lot more to come from the son of One Cool Cat. He told the BBC: "He's improved with each race and I'm thrilled for the owners. After he won at Brighton, we knew he handled downhill tracks so it wasn't a hard choice to come here." Indian Art headed the chasing pack just ahead of Able Master and Roly Boy. The last-named has bags of scope and is worth following. Fivefootnumberone was well-held in this stiffer company while Full Of Nature was disappointing and failed to build on his Newmarket success.
