A fine performance here from Art Connoisseur, who was finally picked up in commentary and then quickly put the race to bed in a matter of strides to score decisively. Intense Focus snatched second in a photograph from the front-running Lord Shanakill, whilst Himalya just missed out on the places in fourth. There was a decent gap then to the next home - the favourite Orizaba; he fell out of the stalls and was slowly to stride so in the circumstances this rates a good effort. They went a fair pace throughout and this played into Art Connoisseur's hands as he made stealthy headway from the rear at halfway and then burst through with just over a furlong left to run. It was interesting that all of the runners stayed in one big group and came down the centre of the track. Had they made two groups then the result may not have been so straightforward as the winner would have had to overcome plenty of traffic, but with the race run this way he just nipped round the side like a naughty child trying to avoid a smack. In behind Awinnersgame ran a fair race, whilst Icesolator and Versaki never really got going and never threatened to feature
