A bit of a turn-up as 25-1 chance LANGS LASH stuck her neck out gamely under the stands' rail for a tough success. She quickened well at the two pole to get into the mix and then showed plenty of spirit to fend off strong challenges from the placed horses. The once-raced Shyrl had been well fancied for her debut and she has proved herself to be more than useful on this showing. Another furlong should not be a problem and the Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket would be an obvious place for her to bid to break her duck. Irish raider Connie Mac seemed the one to beat for a stride or two but could not pull out anything more in the final few yards. A maiden will be a formality but the hitherto unbeaten Danehill Destiny failed to beat another rival home.
