Mark Johnston's scattergun approach paid dividends with LOVE GALORE scoring cosily from his quartet of contenders after being backed off the boards in the 10 minutes before the off. Johnston's Always Bold and Swinging Sixties set a scorching early pace while many of the fancied horses stayed firmly at the back. But that's where many of them finished as Johnny Murtagh cruised up the centre of the track to collar Luca Cumani's Savarain and win with something in hand. Howdigo was the only tail-gunner to work his way through the field to snatch third while favourite Colony started slowly and went slower, Ryan Moore seeming to accept something was amiss an awful long way from home.
