2008 Coventry Stakes hero ART CONNOISSEUR clearly relishes this stiff six furlongs and a fast pace as he swepth through to score at 20/1. There was no fluke though as he showed a similar smart turn of foot to 12 months ago to hit the front and he was never going to be caught despite Cannonball closing to within a neck. This was a tremendous performance considering he was up against some battle hardened older sprinters and he had also suffered a slight setback in his preparation. He will be a force in the July Cup if turning out. The second had run in the King's Stand Stakes on Tuesday and improved on that effort over the extra furlong. He had the rest well seen off - headed by Lessons In Humility, who is going from strength to strength. Her tainer Karl Burke is in fantastic form and his filly is at the top of her game as she kept tremendously having been in there pitching from an early stage. J J The Jet Plane went fast from the start but could not sustain that pace and was a bit disappointing in fourth considering how well he had won last time at Windsor. Last year's winner Kingsgate Native was very free to the start and keen in the race - he should come into the reckoning more on his next outing with this under his belt.
