The first favourite of the day went in as Ruby Walsh booted QUEVEGA up the Cheltenham hill in this mares' race for the second year running. She hadn't been seen since last May but punters put their faith in the ability of Willie Mullins and the result never looked in doubt. She travelled really well, much like the best horse in the race and when Ruby made his move ahead of the final flight nothing was going to catch her. Stravinsky Dance almost pulled Sam Waley-Cohen's arms out in first-time blinkers and she was 20 lengths clear at one stage, but came back to the pack in the last half mile. Voler La Vedette had every chance but she just didn't have the class of the winner and was beaten for second in the end by Carole's Legacy who stayed on well in the closing stages without threatening Quevaga.
