With the Queen in attendance there was plenty of confidence behind favourite Caraboss however William Buick and IMPERIAL PIPPIN who spoiled the party. The favourite had every chance, dictating a very steady tempo throughout, and Moore tried to kick on as the runners left the false rail in the straight. However it was at that point that the winner was gifted a gap on the inside and she took it well, moving through strongly to quicken on by half a length. However her inexperience seemed to show a little there and Caraboss was able to get back within a neck, however to her credit she battled on when challenged again close home. She looks a filly who almost needs a mile and a half already and looks a filly to keep on the right side of. The runner-up didn't do much wrong, but just lacked a telling turn of foot two furlongs from home. She stayed on well having been headed and won't always bump into as smart a rival as this. Third home was Stella Point who really caught the eye. She was held up towards the rear by Richard Hughes and so was disadvantaged by the slow pace and number of horses in front of her. Ultimately she really found her stride in the final two furlongs but the race had gone by since then; she'll be wiser next time and her trainer's horses are in fantastic form. Creme Anglaise shape with plenty of promise in fourth, especially as she had to make some room between the first two home when trying to challenge at the cut away. She is stoutly bred but travelled well for a long way and doesn't necessarily need a mile and a half just yet. Hidden Valley didn't seem to handle the firs bend too well and as a result had little cover towards the outside of the field but she ran well, as did Trend Line who was in a midfield position for a long way and should have learnt plenty. Tarkeeba was too keen early and was dropped to the rear by Richard Hills accordingly. She had to be ridden along towards the outside to try and improve her position before halfway but to be honest the response was pretty limited; she looks like she needs more time. Formal Dining missed the kick and was then too keen, whilst High Fallutin can improve on her effort when granted some more cover. Supreme Seductress helped cut out some of the early running but, after holding every chance when the sprint started, she got pretty tired late on.
