A very taking performance from I'M A DREAMER, the lowest rated runner in the field, and reportedly the best filly in her trainer's yard. She had looked a little unlucky not to finish closer to Field Day in a Listed race at Ascot last July on just her fourth career start but there were no problems for this hold-up performer on the wide expanse of the Rowley Mile and she put the race to bed in a matter of strides. This was just a sixth career start so it's reasonable to expect further improvement from this half-sister to Moudez although things may not pan out for her quite as well as they did here. She well head next to the Windsor Forest with David Simcock looking to step her up to ten furlongs thereafter; the trainer had expected her to need the run. Sea Of Heartbreak had also progressed through handicaps last season before running a solid race at Listed level on her final start. She was also expected to need this return and may possibly have got a little closer granted a clear run through the field; she should be capable of winning at this level although she may have handled the quicker ground better than many of her rivals. Brian Meehan had warned that Field Day would also need the run and that she is expected to improve this season like so many Ballymacoll families; this was a satisfactory return. Chachamaidee, a Listed winner, ran respectably but probably needs to find a little more in order to gain a valuable success at this level but she hasn't had many chances. Eleanora Duse faced a tough task under a penalty, was too keen early and may now need further. The progressive pair Contredanse and Mirror Lake also ran respectably on their seasonal returns and can be expected to improve through the season when stepped back up in trip. Crystal Gal refused to settle before being allowed to go on by Paul Hanagan on her first run for this yard and had plenty to find on the figures.
