CLASS IS CLASS hasn't proved the easiest to win with with two wins and four seconds from 13 career starts although he has proved a consistent performer since being fitted with a visor and was gaining his second success at this level to end an uncharacteristically long losing streak for his trainer. A number of this field had something to prove either in terms of fitness or current form so it's hard to assess what he achieved in a race that favoured those that raced on the pace but he did run out a comfortable winner and finished a lot further in front of Forte Dei Marmi than he had at Goodwood on his reappearance. He does stay a mile and a half but this appears to be his optimum trip and probably his level too although this was arguably a career best performance and connections may be able to find a small Group Three for him somewhere along the line. Tazeez had progressed well last season and was having his first run since being outclassed in a Group One at Meydan in March. He benefited from a typically canny front-running ride from Richard Hills, didn't go down without a fight and pulled readily clear of the remainder. This run will have delighted connections for whom the seven year old has won three Group Threes and finished third in last year's Prince Of Wales's Stakes and he should continue to be a force at the right level. The first three home were in the first four throughout with Black Spirit returning to form following a disappointing run behind Workforce in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes. He runs this track particularly well but is without a win since picking up a handicap here 12 months ago and will continue to be hard to place. All The Aces had been off the track for over 600 days and made an encouraging return staying on stoutly for pressure having been outpaced. His last two wins came over a mile and a half and he will be more effective when stepped back up to that trip providing that he suffers no ill-effects from this outing. Fallen Idol was having his first run of the season having disappointed on his final two starts of last term on soft ground. He came from a long way back to take fifth at a track where he has gained two of his three career successes; this was just his sixth start and he can be found the right opening to add to his win at this level. Emirates Champion and Rasmy shaped creditably returning from breaks and both should have more to offer in this grade. Jet Away was a shade disappointing over 12f last time; he was forced to race wide throughout after missing the break but failed to pick up when asked and has something to prove now. Forte Dei Marmi progressed well in handicaps last season but has failed to fire in Pattern races this term and this was another disappointing performance, finding little having been produced to challenge. Prince Siegfried should have fared better given the way the race was run and has yet to recapture his best form whilst stablemate Vesuve was eased right down as though something was amiss.
