The last two winners of this maiden have gone on to win at Group Three level and EKTIHAAM is held in quite high regard by his connections who reported that he wouldn't be given too hard a time of things this season and he has no big race entries other than a sales race at this stage. He travelled like the best horse to the race and moved smoothly to the front before running green and giving Richard Hills one or two steering problems. There should be plenty more to come and he could stay further if inheriting the stamina evident on his dam's side. Jeremy Noseda's juveniles are running well at present and this was a pleasing start to the career of Harvard N Yale who appears to have plenty of scope. He travelled well before becoming outpaced when the tempo quickened and took some time to find his stride but was going on strongly at the finish. Campanology, midfield in the Coventry before being disqualified at Haydock, should have little trouble finding a race but is starting to have his limitations exposed. Gunner Will made good progress at Sandown when racing alone down the centre of the track and again showed plenty of ability although he did run around a fair bit under pressure, giving Campanology a bump in the process. They finished clear of Martin Chuzzlewit, Producer and Alvitude; three colts from top yards with middle distance pedigrees who all showed ability and can be expected to improve considerably. Beau Duke should also leave this run behind in time although it was a shade disappointing that Drummond didn't fare better having shown promise on debut although it is too soon to be writing him off.
