A race where all eyes were on Best Terms but Richard Hannon's filly was a bitter disappointment in her quest for a five timer and having been ridden from halfway - her presence in the race effectively ended with two to travel. It may have been that the ground was too quick for her on this occasion and it would be folly to dismiss her on the basis of one bad run .
All credit to LIGHTENING PEARLas she delivered the goods when it mattered. Always handy, she took the lead with a couple of furlongs to go and gave willingly for Johnny Murtagh's urgings.
Sunday Times stayed on from another county to be sedcond. She kept on from a very improbable position to chase the winner and this goes down as a career best from Peter Chapple-Hyam's filly.
Angels will Fall probably lacks the class of the front two and she kept on stoutly enough having held every chance. Miss Work of Art has been a busy individual and though outclassed in this grade did enough to suggest that she could even be worth a look at seven furlongs in lesser grade.
Sajwah chased the leaders in the early stage but was pulled up sharply after going wrong. Shumoos was disappointing and allowed to come home in her own time.
The winner is currently a 16-1 chance with Sky Bet for the 1,000 Guineas
