Kinglet was a warm order following the impressive maiden success of Much Improved whom he had beaten by a short-head at Newmarket despite carrying a penalty for that success. He was initially keen under restraint and momentarily outpaced as the leaders kicked for home; he kept on well enough but didn't pick up as his jockey would have wanted despite being switched several times in an attempt to get him to close the gap. A neat colt who lacks the size of the pair that finished in front of him, he has existing Group race entries but will need to improve on this if he's to take up those engagements although it's possible he didn't appreciate the ground which was described by some jockeys as 'tacky'. FARHAAN had shaped encouragingly behind a well-regarded individual on debut before showing the benefit of that run at Newmarket. He was always in the right position given the way that the race unfolded but showed a really good attitude to get the better of a more experienced rival with the pair doing well to pull clear of a field that was tightly grouped with three furlongs to run. He has Dewhurst and Racing Post Trophy entries but will reportedly head for the Royal Lodge next; he was quoted for the Derby but is far from certain to stay that far on paper. Mister Music was allowed an easy time of things up front and gradually wound the pace up. He is rated 80 and was firmly put in his place behind Fencing in a Listed race last time; he got this longer trip well and only gave second best in the final strides but may not be the easiest to place in the short-term. Lord Ofthe shadows had gone close behind a stablemate in a Listed race over C&D on testing ground but failed to run up to that form; this was his sixth run of the season and he has proved most consistent. He wasn't disgraced under a penalty but may have been feeling the effects of a hard race which came just under a fortnight ago. Stature showed promise in the face of a stiff task on debut and stayed on quite well having raced keenly; he's bred to come into his own over middle distances next season and it will be interesting to see how he progresses. Daghash's yard have recently found some form and he had shown some promise on debut but he was readily left behind when the tempo quickened.
