All eyes were on BORN TO SEA as he made his racecourse bow as he's the last foal of star broodmare Urban Sea and a half-brother to Sea The Stars. He has plenty to live up to and connections had been keen to lower expectations but they may have a task on their hands following an impressive performance. Johnny Murtagh was able to get plenty of cover before gradually improving his position; he had a wall of horses in front of him but the gaps finally opened up approaching the final furlong and he showed a good turn of foot to quicken up and stay on well despite obvious signs of greenness. Connections nominated the Group Three Killavullan Stakes as a possible next target for the colt with the Beresford Stakes likely to come too soon. He was described as flightier than his illustrious sibling by Murtagh who couldn't hide his excitement about the future. Murtagh believes that he will be ideally suited by seven furlongs and will stay a mile next season but was not convinced that he would stay as far as 12 with his sire, Invincible Spirt, an influence for speed. Pearl In The Sand is still a maiden and the stable's second string here but she ran a solid race to pick up some valuable Black Type. She enjoyed a fairly clean run up the rail before being switched - and giving her weakening stablemate Bible Black a bump - and finishing off strongly without being a match for the winner; she should have little difficulty opening her account. An Ghalanta was having her ninth start of the season and helps to provide the guide to the form; she had the run of the race but was reeled in close home and may prove more effective back over the minimum. Experience was giving weight away all round but wasn't quite at her best. Having moved smoothly into contention, she soon came under pressure and was readily brushed aside and didn't see out her race; she may be ready for a break.
