Verdict

David Pipe: "It was a strange kind of race. Three-runner races are never ideal and it looked like he dropped himself out before he stayed on strongly at the end. It was good to start the season on a winning note as he ended last season on a poor one, so hopefully he can build on that now. We were trying for a confidence-booster with him and we will probably look for another little race for him next. He showed at Haydock last year when winning the Fixed Brush that he's a decent horse and he's only six, so hopefully he can build on this now."
