Verdict

Nicky Henderson: "He was always travelling well and he is a horse who has been doing everything right. He was unlucky to miss out by literally one or two at Cheltenham - he just got balloted out the bottom - and then we ran him in the consolation race at Kempton and he won that. Consequently, he got his penalty and he has done well to win again. Having been balloted out at Cheltenham, it's great that he got a consolation that weekend and now he has got the proper prize that he deserved. He is probably going the right way. He's a lovely unfurnished sort. He is very likeable - a really, nice, genuine, honest and uncomplicated horse - and we put some ear plugs in him today because Barry said that he was a bit gassy at Kempton. Barry has been great and we are missing him but I have a great team of boys and they are doing everything right. Jerry gave him a lovely ride. He was always in the right place - they all were turning in but one of them was good at least."

Jeremiah McGrath: "I've had a few winners at Aintree itself but this is my first at the Festival. I won on him at Kempton off a mark of 119 - it was his second run after coming over from France as a maiden - but I've won off 144 today so it just shows you the improvement the boss can get out of a horse. It's a tremendous effort. As the season has gone on and the ground has got better, he has really improved. He's very aggressive - he had seven or eight months of racing in France before he came over so he has plenty of experience. I had no worries going into handicap company again today in a big field. Fair play to Barry Geraghty - he suggested running him in earplugs today after his last run and they just helped him to switch off a bit today."

Jonjo O'Neill: "He ran well. He just got sandwiched a few times but he kept going. He's not a bad little horse, but he's not the biggest to get murdered in a race and it just takes it out of them."

Willie Mullins: "He's shown today he wants all of this trip. He'll be running on the Flat soon."
