Super League preview: Hull FC v St Helens
By Sam Drury. Last Updated: 04/09/13 2:58pm
Hull FC take on St Helens at the KC Stadium on Friday as both sides aim to finish the regular Super League season on a high.
The teams head into the match with just a point separating them and knowing the victors will finish the season in fifth, whilst the defeated side could drop down to seventh should Catalan Dragons win their remaining fixture, against Warrington on Saturday.
Saints were beaten last time out at home to the Wolves, 29-16, but had been in good form winning their last five previous to that.
Hull, meanwhile, have won their last five Super League encounters with their only defeat in the last six games being the Challenge Cup final loss to Wigan at Wembley.
Both sides make one change to their squads for their last fixtures with Hull welcoming back Aaron Heremia after suspension. The hooker replaces the injured Ben Crooks who is struggling with a shoulder injury.
The visitors have hooker James Roby back with Joe Greenwood dropping out of the 19-man squad.
Saints' Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook is expecting a tense affair as his side go for the win that that would ensure they finish above Friday's hosts.
"We want to finish as high as we can but Hull isn't an easy place to go," he said.
"We've had some great contests there over the last few seasons. They are a good team and will have the memory of the Challenge Cup too and so it will be a nail-biter."
