Widnes Vikings star Danny Tickle in hospital after nightclub incident

Widnes Vikings have confirmed that Danny Tickle is recovering in hospital after an incident on Saturday evening.

The Super League club did not specify what had happened to Tickle, but police have confirmed that Tickle suffered a head injury in an incident outside a nightclub.

A Vikings statement read: "The club can confirm that Danny Tickle was involved in an incident on Saturday evening that required hospital treatment.

"Danny is in a stable condition and the club have been advised that he will make a complete recovery.

"The club will be making no further comments on this matter at this stage."

Greater Manchester Police confirmed: "At 4.05am on Sunday 1 November 2015, police received a report of a man being assaulted outside Queen's nightclub, Wigan Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield.

"The 32-year-old was taken to hospital suffering from head injuries and is currently in a stable condition.

"A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed until 29 November 2015."
