Stefan Ratchford has signed a two-year extension to his Warrington contract.

The England full-back had one more full season to run on his previous deal but is now under contract until November 2020.

Ratchford has scored 550 points in 160 games since arriving from Salford in 2012 and earned a first England cap in the autumn.

He said: "I'm delighted to get this over the line. I was heading into the last year of my deal next year and didn't know what was to happen so I'm delighted that the club has chosen to extend my contract.

"The next few years are exciting with the young lads coming through and the current squad we have. The club is continuing to grow off the field as well as on it and hopefully, in the not too distant future, we can finally pick up that elusive Grand Final winners ring and achieve the goals we've set out for."

Head coach Tony Smith said: "I'm delighted for Stef on his extension. He has been very consistent this year and has earned the right for a longer term deal.

"He was already on contract for next year, but is mature enough with the right sort of temperament for us to extend his contract further. He works hard and is a good leader within our group."

Front rower Joe Philbin has also signed a two-year deal on the back of 12 appearances so far this season.

"I've come all the way through from the juniors on the progression ladder at Warrington," said Philbin, who is now under contract until 2019. "When they came to me to re-sign it was a pretty simple decision to make.

"I struggled to get game time last year but got a little bit of a run at the back end of the season just missing out on the Grand Final but that's made me more hungry for this year. I'm happy to be getting more game time now and playing with a smile on my face, playing my game."
