The Catalan Dragons have retained the services of Eloi Pelissier, signing the hooker to a new two-year deal.
The France international, who has made over 80 appearances in Super League since making his debut for the Dragons back in 2011, had been linked with a move to England.
However, the 22-year-old has ended speculation about his future by penning a fresh contract that will keep him at Stade Gilbert Brutus until the end of the 2016 campaign.
“I love the club, it’s my hometown club, and I'm very happy and proud to stay here for the next two seasons," Pelissier told the club's official website.
“I’ve had talks with Laurent Frayssinous and Bernard Guasch and it was important for me to feel their full support and confidence.”
Dragons boss Laurent Frayssinous is delighted to have held onto Pelissier, a player who has seen an increased role in the first team this year due to the long-term absence of fellow hooker Ian Henderson.
“He had a great opportunity this season and he showed he could be one of the best hooker in the Super League," he said.
“He is a very talented young player who shows great desire to be the best but he needs to keep working hard."
