Front rower Antonio Kaufusi has turned down the chance to stay on loan with Bradford for the season and instead returned to Huddersfield.

The 29-year-old has spent the past five weeks on loan with the Bulls, who were keen to retain his services for the remainder of the campaign.

However, the Tonga international has turned down relegation-threatened Bradford and is now heading back to the John Smith’s Stadium to team up again with the Giants.

Bradford head coach Francis Cummins told the club’s official website: “We are really disappointed to see Antonio go back to Huddersfield, as we would have liked to have kept hold of him until the end of the year.

“We fully appreciate Antonio's desire to fulfil his original commitments, though, and wish him all the very best for the future.”

Kaufusi, who featured in the NRL for Melbourne, Newcastle and North Queensland before making a move to the UK - where he signed for London Broncos - made four appearances during his time with the Bulls.
