Widnes have secured the services of leading tryscorer Corey Thompson to the end of 2018.
The 26-year-old Australian winger has been an ever-present in his first season with the Vikings and his 20 tries in 23 appearances puts him second in the Super League chart behind Castleford's Denny Solomona.
Thompson initially joined Widnes from Canterbury Bulldogs on a two-year deal and is happy to sign a 12-month extension.
"I think Widnes have shown that we can produce something exciting in the years ahead," said Thompson. "I'm really pleased to stay and be a part of it.
"We have a good bunch of lads here and the coaches encourage us to play an exciting style of footie."
Widnes coach Denis Betts said: "Corey is a quality player. He offers the unexpected and is improving all the time.
"Keeping this stability and security in the squad will help us to continue our development."
