Catalans Dragons have agreed terms on a two-year deal starting next season with Steve Bell.

Centre to replace countryman Wilson

Former Queensland State of Origin centre Steve Bell is to sign a two-year contract with Super League high flyers the Catalans Dragons. The 32-year-old has scored 87 tries in 158 appearances in Australia's National Rugby League, Bell starting his professional career with the Melbourne Storm in 2001 before joining Manly. "Steve is a previous State of Origin player and he is a fantastic acquisition for the club," said Catalans general manager Christophe Levy. "His signing will give stability to the outside backs." Bell will be a replacement for fellow Australian John Wilson, who is returning home at the end of the season after being with the club since their entry into Super League in 2006. "I have always wanted to play Super League and I could think of no better club to do it at than Catalans," he said.
